Salt Lake City January 6 The civilian conservation corps district offices move from Fort Douglas to Pocatello Idaho to free space for the army ninth corps area. The Pocatello district will oversee 44 CCC camps across Utah Idaho eastern Nevada eastern Oregon and western Wyoming. Boise already moved its district office. The Salt Lake City office consolidation with Idaho was dropped. Ninth corps area headquarters will occupy the Salt Lake City space. Lieutenant Colonel Hugh C Dorrien of Pocatello remains district commander. Three staff officers and seven civilian employees shift from Salt Lake City. Two Utah sub districts Leeds and Bonneville will report to the district. Leeds has seven companies and Bonneville fourteen. About 60 district office and warehouse workers are affected, many to join ninth corps or other defense units. Key Fort Douglas staff move to Pocatello headquarters. The new district will govern 44 camps in Idaho eastern Nevada southern Oregon western Wyoming and Utah.
