Joe G Burton Dies After Long Illness
Joe Gale Burton longtime civic leader and retired locomotive engineer died at his North Garfield residence after a prolonged illness. Born in Plymouth England November 28 1863 he moved across the country with his family before settling in Pocatello in 1898 and serving in local and state Democratic roles. He retired March 27 1925 after a rail career beginning as a fireman in 1882. He leaves wife Sarah Hill Burton three sons Herschel J Harold and Francis G Burton five grandchildren and a sister Selina Kelly. Funeral arrangements are to be announced by Hall mortuary.
