Ed Wynn’s Question Box echoes from a seaside cliffside note
A humorous column features readers seeking quirky explanations. Jokes touch on high altitude flying, square umbrellas, royal titles, snakes in mountains, beard reasons, John McCormack, nationality mixups, and a seaside vacation tease toward Atlantic City.
Ocean swims after meals myth debunked
The piece explains not to believe the old rule about sea swimming after a big meal, noting it’s a superstition with no scientific basis. It jokes about a tale involving a friend, a misheard name, and a quip about a mosquito, ending with a tease about "Next week."
Ed Wynn Challenge to Readers at the Editor's Desk
The note invites readers to stump Ed Wynn with questions sent to the editor for a reply. It touts Wynn as one of the wisest men and asks for any kind of question to test him, framing it as a light reader engagement in the paper.
