Farm laborer Hunter sentenced to prison term

Lewis C. Hunter, a Twin Falls farm laborer, received a sentence of 10 to 25 years in the state prison for killing R. C. Letsch in a November 8 altercation. Judge W. A. Chicago police kill three gangsters in Rogers Park raid

In a dramatic Rogers Park shootout, Chicago police killed three gunmen while pursuing Dillinger and his ring. Fingerprints later identified the dead as Louis Katzewitz, Charles Tattlebaum, and Sam Ginsburg, linked to a May 1932 Union National Bank robbery. Father shoots daughter over Ouija board crime case in Arizona

In LT. Johns Arizona on December 1, a 15 year old girl, Mattie Turley, pleads guilty to attempted murder after shooting her father J Turley, a naval reserve chief gunner, in the corral. The mother Irene Turley faces an accomplice charge and denies the Ouija board seance. The girl seeks six years at the st ndustrial school.

Rotary Christmas Program Taken to Church in Bannock Hall

Rotarians held their annual Christmas program in the Bannock hall Rowanis room with a miniature church and loud speaker broadcast. Rev I G Roddy of the Baptist church spoke on Christ Budda and Confucius as world history figures. Jugard Neilson sang Silent Night with his mother Mrs T R Neilson. the club sung under T R Neilson direction. Gifts were presented to Mrs Neilson on behalf of the club. Next Thursday’s meeting will be run by the vocational service committee.

Union protest sent directly to president in Bannock county

The Pocatello Progressive union appealed to President Roosevelt demanding removal of CWA committee members and accusing them of favoritism. The telegram cites 100 relief families excluded from work and jobs given to wealthy or official figures, plus two week on and two week off employment patterns. Probate Judge Robert S. Police seize suspect in Community Gas office robbery

Ace Ross, 32, of 1225 East Clark, is arrested as police and sheriff's deputies say they solved the December 10 robbery at the Gould street Community Gas office. The break in yielded about 16 dollars plus over 800 dollars in warrants, notes and stock. Ross faces count of receiving stolen property.
