Diesel Engine Dispute Hopes Dwindle at City Council
Idaho Falls council meets with little debate on the pending injunction against the city’s purchase of a diesel engine. Licenses for hotels and rooming houses are renewed, a soft drink and card room permit denied, and several property developments approved including a canal street residence and service station. A committee will pursue a settlement with East Idaho Gas over pavement cuts for gas pipe lines, with a bond claim to be referred if no agreement is reached. New street lighting and pipe-line study orders aim to connect private lines to the city system.
