Idaho housewives urged to canned portions of 23 major fruit and vegetable crops as supplies are reserved for armed forces. State OPA director C. C. In New York City a 28 year old art student Miss Mary Wurte dangled from a sixth floor window sill on Riverside Drive as two rescuers Arthur Zohn and Jacob Dobson fought for 15 minutes to pull her inside. Police were alerted by Mrs Zohn. She was taken to Bellevue Hospital observation ward after resisting potential surgery.
The Boise event of the Northwest Mineralogical Societies scheduled for September 1 has been postponed for the duration of the war. The Idaho Gem club announced the decision on Monday.

Lt. Richard McHan of the Flying Eagle squadron is in Princess Mary's hospital Wendover Bucks London progressing favorably. Word was received by his mother Mrs H L McHan of 217 South Arthur Avenue. He was hospitalized in Malta after an injury in action, having been there five months.
Idaho three selective service appeal boards received 30 cases last week, as many as a month’s total. Appeals came mainly from war industry workers and married men near induction, both groups being reclassified into IA.
