Reno Explosion Kills Five Injures 137

Five men died and more than 137 were injured when a fire and a blast struck Reno Nevada on Sunday in the old business district. The explosion sent glass across the street. buildings including the Santa Fe hotel and a cafe were damaged. Hospitals reported numerous injuries from glass cuts and smoke inhalation, with 12 to 15 in critical condition. An appeal for blood donors was issued.

Pocatellan Remains In Serious Condition

Pocatello man Mr Woodbury aged 31 was wounded by a rifle discharge near Lemhi Idaho on Friday and remained in serious condition at the Hamilton Montana hospital Sunday night. He was injured in the right hand and abdomen while handling the rifle at his brother in law A Schultz ranch and walked two miles for help before friends rushed him to hospital. Mrs Woodbury and his mother Mrs T A Swanson arrived from Pocatello Saturday.

Mrs Emmett Balleau of Salt Lake City, aged 58, had a ruptured bladder and possible pelvic fracture, while Emmett Balleau, 62, also from Salt Lake City, suffered a basal fracture. Foster McGlochlin, 63, of Picabo Idaho, had several broken ribs and Mrs McGlochin, 53, had a fractured arm.

Police arrest two in DWI collision case

Police arrested Kee Etictty, 25, Fort Hall, on DWI charges after a collision at about 2 pm Sunday in the 200 block North Second. Joe Hardy, a passenger, was also arrested on intoxication charges. The Etictty vehicle reportedly struck a coupe driven by W. H. Druce, 50, of 1226 N Twelfth.

Son Guards Mother's Bedy in Four Day Vigil

Savannah authorities report a housewife, Mrs. Mario Anderson, in her mid thirties, died from gunshot wounds. Her five year old son Tommy stood guard beside her body for four days while the coroner, Dr. Harold Smith of Chathan County, investigated.

Simplot Buys Ski Lift. Idaho Capitalist Eyes Pebble Ski Area

Jack Simplot, noted Idaho industrialist with projects in Pocatello and Lava Hot Springs, has purchased a ski lift formerly used at Sun Valley. Dorothy Andrus, 21, of 755 North Tenth, treated for shock at General hospital after a Sunday evening crash on Pole Line road west of the NOP building 36.
