Deputies Battle Mine Strikers in Coal Fields
Gunfire and tear gas sent ten men to hospitals as a southwestern Pennsylvania strike spread to additional mines. At Star Junction mine six were shot in a brush with deputies. at Colonial mine two were shot and two burned by tear gas. Butterfield Native Son Dies in Idaho Funeral Planned
William H. Butterfield of 258 East Gould Idaho Falls died after an operation at a local hospital. He was born in Oxford Idaho and worked as an interior decorator. Survived by his widow Hanna Quest Butterfield and thirteen children including Ray Butterfield Idaho Falls and Henry Butterfield Oakland. Also listed are several daughters and sons all of Pocatello. Remains at Hall mortuary with funeral arrangements to be announced.
