Weiser reports April 28 that g irl scouts plan a visit by Mrs. Herbert Hoover and Mrs. Paul Rittenhouse of New York to Spokane after their stop in Weiser. The pair, touring as national Girl Scout officials, will meet local scouts before continuing west.
London reports Prime Minister Churchill prioritizing United States aid in the battle of the Atlantic after Greece setback. Australian troops begin leaving Greece per Percy Spencer, while officials minimize talk of the Greek crisis and stress sustaining Atlantic supply lines.
Argentina and Chile completed a preliminary exchange of views on legal grounds for Antarctic claims and plan formal talks next month. They foresee dividing a southern sector while excluding the United States Great Britain and other nations from the negotiations.
Idaho Governor Clark said liquor prices at state stores will probably rise due to a new 20 percent wholesale tax. He noted the increase is not a concern for tax collection from wholesalers and expects the public not to notice. Clark spoke at the Oregon Young Democrats Memorial Luncheon before returning to Boise.
Glenn E. Hawkes versus Leah Hawkes began in district court this morning with Judge I. E. Mc Dougall presiding. The couple had married on September 7, 1937, and the plaintiff alleges neglect of their child and claims the wife stated she did not love him and married to support the child. Also scheduled tomorrow at 10 a.m. are the declaratory judgment action of Ross Ralphs versus Burton M. Almond and the divorce action of Margaret Schutt McMinn versus Robert G. McMinn.
Six Ampleforth college students including two of Hubert Pierlot’s sons died when a London to Newcastle express coach caught fire near Claypole Lincolnshire. In Brooklyn the Dodgers beat the Reds 3 to 2 for their seventh straight win as the Cardinals rested.

Mrs. Louis J. Lemstra national president of the American Legion Auxiliary will visit Idaho's state department in Pocatello Tuesday arriving from Salt Lake City. She will address Idaho Southern University and attend a luncheon tea and a Memorial hall banquet with a joint child welfare meeting to follow before proceeding to Portland for the Oregon department visit.
Nick Adams of Provo was fined $10 and costs by Justice Charles W. Hyde after a state police complaint charged him with operating a motor vehicle on a public highway with an overload. Alma Marley signed the complaint.
Leland P. Hamilton of Oneonta New York president of the American Institute of Laundering will address the Rotary club luncheon Thursday April 1. He will stress business ethics in commercial effort. Hamilton to attend Idaho Laundry and Dry Cleaners association convention opening May 2 in Pocatello. former Rotary district governor with near 15 years perfect attendance.
Francis Reeser arraigned before Justice Chas W. Hyde on a battery charge. He was fined $30 and costs after Beth Larson signed the complaint claiming Reeser beat her.

The Boeing C-18 bomber comes from Salt Lake City to the municipal airport for a public inspection on Wednesday. A crew of eight to ten soldiers will provide descriptions of the aircraft and recruit cadets during the event from 10 a.m. to evening.
Breaks 75 straight Jimmy Bean and Ralph Clevenger won first prizes in the wild life shoot held Sunday by the Pocatello Trapshooting Club. High score honors went to Bob Shaw with 75 straight. telegraphic score totaled 72 with Shaw 25 Vogt 24 Brown 23. Bean shot 50 straight to win handicap at 21 yards and Clevenger won at 19. A registered shoot will be held next Sunday.
Public schools in Robin will close for the same vacation on May 2 per county superintendent Scott D. Lowe. Cleveland led county closures with classes dismissed last Friday. The Cove school will close May 9.
