Negro shot and killed by Pocatello patrolman
Gus Travers a colored dining car waiter from Ogden was fatally shot on South First avenue in Pocatello at about 6 pm while resisting arrest by Patrolman Tom Dickson. The officer says the shot was accidental as he struck Travers and Thompson and discharged the weapon while defending himself. An inquest will review the case. Dickson surrendered to Sheriff Ellis and remained in jail overnight.
