Germany orders Norwegian minister Arne Scheel to leave Berlin and severs relations with King Haakon VII and Premier Nygaardsvold. The staff must depart. Germany cites the hostile stance of Norway’s government amid ongoing war.
In Berlin Goebbels condemns British bid to split Hitler from the German people calling it the most stupid phase of war politics. He says unity with the Fuehrer is the Reichs strength and that the nation will parade past Hitler tomorrow as Hess prepares to speak.
The First Presbyterian Church plans a Sunday program featuring two piano pieces by Mrs. Louise Budge including BeethovenFarewell to the Piano and Simometti Madrigal. The choir led by Mrs. E T Ferry will sing If Ye Love Me by Simper and Jack Smith will perform One Sweetly Solemn Thought by Ambrose as the morning solo.

Kenneth Seeds 39 the pilot and Kenneth Morris 25 a hunter survived a crash while pursuing coyotes near Shoshone Idaho. Morris sustained a back injury with possible fracture and paralysis while Seeds had cuts and bruises. The engine failure caused the dig off ground with no fire. rescue followed.
Louis Lepke Buchalter, a New York racketeer, arrived at Leavenworth Kansas to begin a 14 year federal penitentiary sentence for a narcotics law violation.
Secretary Hull said at a press conference that he has no political aspirations and is not a candidate for any office. He noted Governor Hoey of North Carolina endorsed him, but Hull urged others to respect his stated position and avoid any contrary actions.

Word reached today that Ralph Knapp, a Pocatello aviator with the U S Army Air Corps at Randolph Field Texas, was in an automobile accident between Texas and Pocatello while en route to attend his father’s funeral. Details on the wreck and injuries were not learned.
Rudolf Christensen aged 63, a Salt Lake City jeweler, died after being struck by a large gasoline trailer wagon today. Traffic Sergeant Harvey C Peirce said the death would not be listed as a traffic fatality.

High school Girl Reserves from all groups met at the YWCA to organize a fund raising project. They will sell advertising envelopes on a percentage basis to promote Idaho's 50 years of statehood. The envelopes feature Idaho scenes including the state flower and capitol. Camp for the year is planned at Payette Lake in June.
