A man about 25, unidentified, was struck by Short Line train No. 7 at McCammon. The body, brought to town by Lindquist undertakers, had no papers and lay in the morgue awaiting identification. He stood on the track eating a sandwich when struck, breaking neck and back.
Professor Walter R. Siders, superintendent of Pocatello schools, is appointed by Governor Brady as a member of the State School Law commission. The three member panel includes the state superintendent as chairman and Principal Black of the Lewiston Normal School. the group will study laws from other states to modernize Idaho’s school code.
Chicago April 19 May wheat closed at 1.27 amid light trading and steady demand. Market details indicate modest gains as buyers showed interest before futures expiration and nearby supply remained ample.
Tonight at McNichols & Wight hall Warren F. Gilbert presents an illustrated lecture on the Great Messina Earthquake Horror with about 150 views. He was the first American to enter Messina after the disaster and will show scenes before and after the horror along with his Rome Pompeii and Papal audience experiences.
The Orpheum theatre adjoining the Hub clothing store will reopen tomorrow night under new management. Opera chairs have been installed the front repainted and redecorated the opening night will present a most attractive appearance. The new management are the Hub owners Messrs Fred Ball Holly Watson and Frank Watson Jr.
Former Governor Frank R Gooding will host editors and publishers from ten counties in a May gathering. The club will hold meetings in Gooding with a special press car ride to Jerome Wendell and Twin Falls to view irrigation progress before returning home.
On April 17 J O Rogers was appointed receiver for the Lanyon Zinc Company at Iola Kansas. The action followed an application by Alton B Parker acting for the Trust Company of America as trustees for the bondholders.

Judge Smith McPherson issues an amended decree reserving exclusive federal jurisdiction over Missouri rate cases. The order dissolves a state court injunction against eighteen railroads and blocks state officials from enforcing a three cent passenger rate in Missouri.
Bartlesville, Okla April 19 two robbers dynamited the Bank of Havana Kas near the Oklahoma line and fled with 2300 dollars. A hand car was used to reach Dewey for a northbound train. In Bartlesville a policeman briefly arrested them before they escaped at gunpoint. A posse pursues.
At 3 o'clock this morning a mob of two hundred overpowered the sheriff and stormed the county jail to lynch four white men. Victims include J. B. Miller of Fort Worth charged with murder, and E. K. Brown Jesse West and Joseph Allen named as alleged accomplices. Electric wires were cut, plunging the city into darkness.
Paris April 19. William E. Bain a special agent with the United States treasury department attached to the consulate here shot himself. Authorities believe he was temporarily insane at the time of death.
Henry Renaud of Nashua won the Boston Marathon from Ashland to Boston. The unofficial time was 2 57 36. Jensen of New York finished second and P. J. Grant of New York finished third.

The Poca Y M C A boys committee met to plan a summer program. They will form a multi team league and host a department for ages 8 to 11 from June 1 to September 1 with a $1.50 fee. Admission begins May 1, trips to hills and camps discussed.
Tacoma April 19 Judge Hansford in the United States court ruled in the title lands case valued at hundreds of thousands of dollars for the present owner. The decision opens the way to a sale under clear title to several railroads seeking terminals here.
The eighteenth congress of the Daughters of the American Revolution opened in Continental Hall Washington with Vice President Sherman and Ambassador Jusserand among the speakers.
The April term of the U S district court for the southern division of Idaho adjourned after a week. Seven men were convicted: Frank Shea for counterfeiting. Pelick Smith George Wood John McKinney for furnishing liquor to Indians. Austin Baker Penny Powell for cattle stealing. W R Thornton for horse stealing. Sentences ranged from probation to months in jail and fines. Shea to the state asylum for insanity. Thornton parole. Powell three months.
The concrete reservoir on W. L. Rice's beach farm west of town is 27 by 75 feet, 10 feet deep, reinforced and fed by a pure mountain spring. A road through Lander street canyon eases access. It will irrigate the farm's crops, with plans to expand a west-side water system once finished.
An 8 o clock Sunday morning fire at a vacant west side residence near Beach Hill drew the fire department. Insufficient hoses hindered extinguishing until Sam Nixon used his garden hose to save the building. Two tramps sleeping inside fled when flames began. bedding was found, and the blaze is believed to have started from embers left by the intoxicated pair after cooking a late meal.
In New Orleans on April 19 the United States court of appeals denied a rehearing in the railroad rate cases that Alabama had won recently.
Plan to form a state band of about 40 musicians with Gate City band of Pocatello as nucleus. W. A. Samms directs the local band and is coordinating with Idaho commissioners and Governor Brady for Seattle exposition participation. A similar Caldwell band toured Portland four years ago with success.
Frederick J. Haskins of Washington D C, acclaimed American newspaper writer, travels from Montana to Boise via Pocatello on a northwest circuit. He writes for over two hundred papers and heads finances for the National Press Club which plans a seven story building in Washington for editors and visiting writers.
The Grand theatre formerly the Lyric reopens tonight after two weeks of renovations. A new front slanted floor refined walls and a rebuilt machine booth enhance a top tier motion picture presentation. Owner Phil St Marie will manage the theatre praised for its 500 up-to-date opera chairs.
