Citizens of Pocatello notify Governor Hunt that two blocks are ready for the Idaho State Academy site and urge him to appoint a board of trustees to receive deeds and select the site. A mass meeting at the district court room discussed bids on sites and the need to act before May 1.
The chairman said no applicant with a site would be barred. Senator Turner opposed the resolution. Some in the state hoped the academy would fail by default, while deeds for proposed sites should be executed now and tendered to the state. Trustees would select the best option, if formed. Judge Standird doubted a deed could be made before a board existed. S. Ro Stagner was named secretary of the site committee and told to contact the governor. The meeting adjourned.
Reported today that parties vying for the East side Academy of Idaho location will tender four blocks including 43 44 45 and 26 along Fifteenth and Sixteenth avenues. An East side buyer has paid 200 for a thirty day option on Garfield avenue parcels, potentially blocking the Garfield site plan.
