One-Legged Vet Charged in Woman Slaying Mystery
Freeman King, 43, a one legged veteran and coal operator from near Philipsburg, is charged with the hammer and hacksaw slaying of 33 year old Loda Irwin. Irwin's torso was found in the burning shanty in Dean township and a flame scorched set of false teeth was unearthed beneath a doorstep. King admitted the murder.
