Former Florida governor Catts faces counterfeiting indictments
Sidney J. Catts Jr., former Florida governor and Baptist minister, was named in two federal indictments charging him with siding and abetting an alleged million dollar counterfeiting ring. Other defendants include Julian Diaz, Mateo Mir, Armando Dominguez, and Madeline Leah Burwell. Judge Lake Jones set bond at 825000 for Diaz and 17500 for each remaining defendant. Catts allegedly provided 5000 to finance presses with a plan to receive 6250 of the proceeds.
