Edward Lee Smith alias Schmidt 21 and Taylor Far ris 18 were charged with petit larceny and transferred to a justice court after police said they were arrested while prowling cars at a used car lot in the 1400 block of North First operated by Robert E. Shaw. Smith admitted stealing generators tires tubes taillights and an auto jack. Ronald K. Arbon 16 was fined 10 for speeding up to 40 mph near Center street subway. Others cited fined or released include Raymond T. Bruce 2.50 for failing to observe stop signs, Rulon S. Tucker 2.50 bond forfeited, John D. Buehler charge dismissed, Lloyd L. Buckendorf double parking dismissed, Marie Wilson and Nanny Pocatello transferred for intoxication, plus James Kelser and Harry Calvin Eaton on intoxication charges.

Local Boy 5 Fatally Struck by Wires in Backyard Pond
Douglas Rowe five son of Mr and Mrs Robert W Rowe of 1035 North Lincoln was killed shortly after 1 today when he fell onto electric wires in a fish pond at the Joe Siebert home 1042 North Buchanan. Officers could not determine if drowning or electrocution caused the death. Wires carrying 110 volts were placed around the pond to keep cats and dogs away. Douglas played with three year old Joe Merklein when the tragedy occurred. Walter Harris at 932 West Young tried to revive him until city firemen arrived with a resuscitator. The child was taken to St Anthony’s hospital but died on arrival.

Engineers Approve Flood Control Projects in Idaho
