Complete returns show Democrat Tom Johnson elected mayor of Cleveland by a 5985 plurality. Cincinnati voters favored Republicans in other races, with Republicans gaining in several Ohio cities and Democrats strengthening in Cleveland.
In Cincinnati 238 precincts report Fleischmann 42907 votes, Socialist Swing 3774, Prohibition Martin 845, total 783813. Fleischmann leads by 16620 and 12001 majority. City council and school boards remain 20 Republicans to 4 Democrats. Bondhill Evanston Hyde Park and Winton annexed to Cincinnati. Detroit reports Michigan Republicans win state ticket by 35000 to 40000 margin.
Helena Montana reports that only eight aldermen were chosen in the election with Democrats securing six of the eight seats. An earlier report from Avaconda Montana notes Socialist stronghold with John Via ke elected mayor and Patrick McHagh winning the police post.
In Butte Montana yesterday the Citizen's Party won seven of eleven seats including five aldermen a secretary and treasurer and the police judge while losing the mayoralty by 56 votes. Irregularities and miscounts are under review possibly altering results. Henry Mueller ran with Republican Democrat and Citizen's tickets while Patrick Mallinus led the anti toast Democrats Heinze wing.
In Chicago by 11 a.m. about half of the registered voters had cast ballots. Ward workers circulated 250,000 voter cards tied to car knobs across the city and appeared to spur broad turnout.
Washington, Arstil 7. Senator Barrows, chair of the Senate privileges and elections committee, says the panel is flooded with petitions protesting Smoot and urging immediate action to try the charges. He notes petitions will be read but not acted on until Congress meets and referred to a sub committee for action before the full panel.
Buffalo on April 7 reports Wallace Teayer, once legal adviser to Arthur R. Pennell, stating J Frederick Pennell, brother of Arthur R. Pennell, said Arthur left large debts to friends on the east totaling about 200000, sufficient to consume all the insurance.
The steamer Norman Isles arrived in Victoria British Columbia on April 7 guiding the overdee German bark Colambia which had lost her fore and main mast and was otherwise disabled.

In Belgrade Alexander suspends the constitution, retires senators and councillors, dissolves the assembly, and reestablishes the 1901 order while restoring constitutional validity.
The Stratton will case attorneys for both sides agreed to a compromise. It was decided that I. Harry Stratton should receive $300 000 himself plus liberal fees for his attorneys.
Colabmas April 7. The grand jury today returned a true bill against James H. Tillman charging murder in the January slaying of N. G. Gonzales. Tillman's case will be called next Monday for arraignment.
Miss Ellie Dunbalde, daughter of a prominent farmer, died after swallowing carbolic acid following a lover's jilting. She left a note describing a disappointed love, and the death occurred last night in Jailette, Ida.
In Akron Ohio on April 7 Mrs Laean Updike was jailed after confessing to killing Andre Fasnacht. She said Fasnacht acted as a Peeping Tom at her home and she bit him on the head with a cleaver, fracturing his skull.
Three thousand Amsterdam dock laborers join sympathy strike with railroad men in Rotterdam. Builders threaten to strike and a workmen's committee proclaims nationwide takers strike. The ship Holland lies offshore as a thousand soldiers patrol the river with steam picket boats.
In Montpelier Idaho on April 7 a nursemaid named Dora Hemmert was attacked by a released-night cook at the Hotel Burgoyne. The assailant fled after a chase but was captured. a lynching mood briefly spread until it was found she was not seriously harmed and the man was jailed.
Texas Angel a widely known lawyer and politician died at Hailey Sunday evening from a stroke of paralysis after about a week. He was stricken a week ago and sank gradually with a second shock at 2 pm Sunday. Born in Angelica, New York in 1839 he came to Idaho in 1882.
London reports William Hayes Fisher resigns from the post of Financial Secretary of the Treasury after disclosure of his role as a director in a financial syndicate and his acceptance of a bonus of shares in the concern.
United States District Judge Bellinger removed H W Reed of Bend Crook county J W Hamaker of Bey and J O Hamaker of Banansa in Klamath county over land office investigations in Washington. Marie Wane at Eugene also resigned. Charges not disclosed. Investigators probe looseness and possible law violations in Oregon land dealings.
New York April 7 reports May cotton at 10.40 and July at 9.90, a new high for the present rise lasting about five months.
Weymouth England April 7 The two Shamrocks were prepared for their first racing trial but the wind proved so strong the skippers chose to wait for calmer weather and moderate wind before racing begins.
