Marilyn Miller Dies at 38 in New York Hospital
Marilyn Miller star of Sally and other musical hits died this morning at Doctors' Hospital in New York. Known as the perfect musical comedy heroine, she had been confined for three weeks with a sinus infection that led to a toxic condition. Idaho Supreme Court May Be Asked to Rule
April 7 Idaho state auditor Harry C. Parsons said the Supreme Court may review District Judge C. E. Winstead's ruling allowing emergency purchases from firms whose officers include state legislators. The decision authorized warrants for $375 to Eric Hardware of Lewiston and $798 to Wulff Hardware of Weiser, in a case brought by the two firms. Former Sen. Robert Erb heads the Erb firm and Sen. George Donart is a director and attorney for Wulff. The state had declined to pay citing a 15 year old statute prohibiting sales to the state by legislators or firms with legislators. Judge Winstead found the purchases were for public exigencies.
