Detroit April 7. Ford Motor Co announced total retail deliveries of cars and trucks for March reached 179 764 units a new record. The figure was 55 000 above the previous high set in June 1922.
Directors of the American Falls irrigation district set a 2.7 million dollar bond election for May 12 to fund the American Falls reservoir project. Proceeds would pay the district share to the federal reclamation service for 300000 acre feet of storage water and include about 50000 acres from the Springfield Aberdeen canal system.
London reports a severe British industrial mood with about 700,000 workers in disputes and 56,000 on strike including Welsh miners and Norfolk farm workers. Building trades push a new wage and hour schedule effective April 14, risking a lockout of 500,000 if rejected.

Springfield reports a positive denial that the body at Kirkwood Missouri is Father John A. Vreniak of Virden. Joseph Vraniak, the priest’s brother, spoke with the Associated Press by telephone to dispute the identification and said further verification is needed.
In St Joseph Michigan on April 7 AP reports the Israelite House of David remains intact under Benjamin Purnell as sheriff searches for him. M H Tyler says Purnell and buns ten dollars for trap expenses were taken. Mrs Purnell confirms departure. State legislative and judicial branches move toward a receivership amid ongoing quo warranto actions. Governor states they will bring Purnell back.
Washington April 7 The treasury plans to discontinue the two dollar bill amid a money redesign. A committee reports a standardization goal for all paper currency denominations to prevent confusion with other notes and to cut printing costs. The move aims at efficiency, not superstition.
