Farewell Party Honors Two Enlisted Men

A farewell party for Gerald Burnham and Richard McPherson departing April 10 for army service, hosted by the People’s Store staff in the Idaho Power auditorium. Walter Cleare led remarks, Alma and Gary Smith sang, and Wil liam Dunn performed. Guests enjoyed Monte Carlo whist and gifts were presented to the honorees.

Reception Honors Delegates to P T A Conference

Idaho Parent-Teacher association delegates and members gather in Pocatello for a reception in the Student Union building. National VP Mrs. Chris Hinning and national publicity chair Mrs. John E. Idaho PTA Holds 36th Convention in Pocatello

The Idaho Congress of Parents and Teachers will hold its 46th annual convention in Pocatello from April 9 to 11 with over 200 out of town delegates. Guests include national vice president Mrs. Chris Hinning and national publicity chair Mrs. John E. Iaves, with sessions across university halls and the Bannock hotel. A historical pageant in the high school auditorium Sunday evening, led by Mrs. Leo Sessions and local musicians, highlights the program. Public admission is free and attendance is expected to reach capacity.

Local presidents luncheon and convention banquet schedule

Mrs. W. T. Montgomery of Boise presides the local presidents' luncheon at noon Thursday. Mrs. E. D. Lan man of Lewiston presides the local presidents' club. The convention banquet follows Thursday evening at 6 30 o'clock at the Bannock.

Mrs W W Brothers to Attend DAR National Congress

Mrs. W. W. Brothers sails on the Portland Rose to Washington D C for the D A R national congress the week of April 19. Idaho, Oregon and Payette participants will join, with plans to visit New York Philadelphia Valley Forge and relatives in Erie Indiana Illinois and Iowa during a month to six weeks absence.

Dr and Mrs Philip C Call hosted a supper bridge at their North Garfield Avenue home for Mr and Mrs Don Beier who left for Salt Lake City. Guests included Mr and Mrs Richard Clayton Mr and Mrs Hoover Anderson Mr and Mrs Kenneth Ridgeway Mr and Mrs Bob Robbins Mrs William Kennedy and the hosts. Prizes went to the Andersons and Mrs Kennedy. A going away gift was presented to the Beiers.

Lena Cox Returns to Denver After Vacation

Lena Cox daughter of Mr and Mrs William Cox ends a three week stay in Pocatello returning to Denver next Saturday. She will graduate from the University of Denver library school in June and completed a two week practicum at Pocatello public library.

Attractive Parties At Halliwell Home

Continuing a series of spring gatherings, Mrs. J. P. Halliwell and Mrs. P. E. Tressler hosted bridge luncheons at the Halliwell home on West Whitman. Ten tables, spring flowers, and Easter egg decor filled the rooms. prizes went to Mrs. Walter D Service, Mrs. A. M. Newton, and Mrs. F. L. Evans, with Thursday honors to Mrs. Charles Kelly, Mrs. T. Joanne Hunter Named 1941 De Molay Sweetheart

Miss Joanne Hunter daughter of Mr and Mrs Ray Hunter was elected Sweetheart of De Molay at a Memorial Hall dance. Meloy Engagement: Carolyn Meloy to Frederick Carnes

Carolyn Meloy, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frederick O. Meloy of 676 West Lewis street, will wed Frederick William Carnes of Pocatello in mid May. Both graduates of Pocatello High School and Idaho Southern University. Miss Meloy is a pianist active in school musical life. Carnes, a former Intercollegiate Knights member, is manager of Cannes Music Co. of Idaho Falls. they will reside there after marriage.
