Mrs. Franklin D. Roosevelt issued a statement saying there will be no ban on legalized beer in the White House once it is legal to serve beer in government houses. She noted she personally does not drink, and emphasized serving guests when the law allows, pending DC beer legislation.
In California eight Filipinos were jailed for a ritual burial of 26 year old Celine Navarro who allegedly stole $130 from a relative. The body was found on Jersey Island in the San Joaquin River after authorities exhumed it from a hidden grave. The husband forgave her but cult members insisted on death. leader Leon Rantinello admitted the burial.
Wilmer Kinghorn pleaded guilty to failure to report an automobile accident and was fined ten dollars in Justice Martin Garvin's court. His trial on reckless driving, in which he pleads not guilty, is set for Saturday afternoon April 8 at 6 o'clock. Funeral services for Mrs. C Earl Scott were held Sunday at 2 p m from Hall mortuary with Mrs Helen Simson of the Christian Science church officiating.
