Roanoke Virginia April 3 AP employees of the Norfolk Northwestern railway resumed work after a 12 000 worker strike spanning fourteen crafts. A settlement includes reinstatement without discrimination for Brotherhood of Railway Clerks members who walked out March 22. The two non union clerks accused of insulting a female employee will be reassigned to a different department.
Washington April 3 AP Captains Edward V Rickenbacker and Douglas Campbell American aces were made chevaliers of the Legion of Honor and awarded the Croix de Guerre with palm by the French government, the War Department announced.
Army lieutenant R C Altman wanted for desertion and embezzlement at Camp Kearny and car theft at San Diego was captured in Reno after decoy telegrams lured him from Stockton. He confessed to the crimes.
Lincoln Nebraska April 3 a general snow storm with low temperatures prevailed in the state. Weather officials say the storm extends to Salt Lake City and may continue through today and possibly tomorrow. Railroads fear traffic delays if the storm persists.
The First Annual Idaho Motor Car Show begins Tuesday at 8 pm at the Idaho Technical Institute gymnasium in Pocatello. Governor Davis will speak on good roads, with two exhibit sections, vaudeville, bands, dancing, and daily shows through Saturday.

Helena Montana April 8 The name of United States Senator Warren G Harding as a candidate for the Republican nomination for president was filed today with the secretary of state to appear on the ballot at the presidential preference primary April 33. The names of Herbert Hoover Hiram W Johnson Frank O Ledden and Leonard Wood were filed yesterday.
In Montevideo, Washingen Beltran editor of El Pais dies after a duel with former President Jose Batlle y Ordóñez. Batlle surrenders to police. deputies grant Beltran’s widow a $3000 annual pension. Beltran’s body to lie in state in the chamber pending funeral.
The U S destroyer Chauncey arrived in Honolulu in convoy with a hole in her stern after being jammed by the destroyer Aaron Ward en route from San Diego. The Chauncey was aided by the fuel ship Cuyama. Francisco I. Barra denied knowledge of a Agua Prieta proclamation declaring a new united Mexican government, calling the document a forgery.
