New Slot Permits Issued After City Ordinance Change
Operators face arrest if slots lack new permits as the three month licenses expired midnight last night. The city set a 750 dollar annual fee from April 1, but permits may be obtained today for 562.50 for the last nine months of 1949. Bert H. Reese reports only 118 renewal permits issued by noon. Police ordered city wide checks on unpermitted machines. 208 licensed machines were in operation yesterday.

Indian Event Draws 600 To Fort Hall Parade
About 600 people gathered at the Fort Hall agency grounds for the parade opening the interior department centennial observance. Mayors, schoolchildren, and 65 native riders in beaded regalia marched with two life scenes on floats and the American Falls high school band. Nellie Edma rode the queen Palomino. Prizes of 25 and 10 dollars were planned for floats, 2.50 for each participant, and a noon lunch was served.
