1950 Program Will Be Available Soon
S LeRoy Salvesen, chairman of the Bannock County Agricultural Conservation Committee, said the 1950 Agricultural Conservation Program will be available soon. It provides extra funds to help farmers conserve soil and water resources, with the individual assistance limit raised from 750 in 1949 to 2500 in 1950. Most cooperators receive under 100, but the larger cap enables essential conservation work.

Nursery Assists In Conservation Continued From Page Seven
The agency reports new seedings of native grasses including pubescent wheatgrass blue bund and taller wheatgrass at Tetonia Idaho. An observational nursery tests hay yields in southeastern Idaho and mixes grasses with alfalfa to restore soil organic matter and reduce erosion. Big bluegrass intermediate wheatgrass pubescent wheatgrass and Fairway crested wheat are identified as best for Tetonia restoration.
