KEIO manager Charles Crabtree says current TV is not practical here and even Salt Lake City stations face payback challenges with about 6000 sets. California Spuds Lose Price Prop
Secretary of Agriculture Charles F. Brannan plans to bar California early potatoes from price supports next year. The move follows a Senate disclosure and after California growers voted against marketing orders as a condition for 1950 crops. Brannan said supports would be conditioned on producers establishing marketing orders where feasible to align production with consumption and reduce government loss.

Wheat Prices Expected to Fall on 1950 Crop
The Agriculture Department warned wheat farmers that 1950 crop prices could be about 10 percent lower than this year, despite production curbs. The outlook assumes the Aiken Farm Law takes effect January 1, while Congress considers changes that could keep supports above that level. If new bills pass, prices may still fall but less than 10 percent.
