Gov Pittman and elk rescued from Chamberlain Basin
Gov Vail Pittman of Nevada and five elk were flown out of Idaho’s Chamberlain Basin after a week of hunting. A storm dumped a foot of snow and reduced visibility, delaying rescue for about 24 hours. Pittman praised the area’s scenery and said relations among the hikers remained light as they finally reached the airstrip.
