Denver U Withdraws Preliminary Missouri Valley Application

Denver University announced by Chancellor A C Nelson that it has withdrawn its preliminary application for Missouri Valley Conference affiliation. The move aims to keep solid ties with the Mountain States Conference while pursuing a unified Rocky Mountain conference for regional athletic prestige and cross-league appeal. The decision follows criticism from Valley members who accused Denver of trying to professionalize athletics and jeopardize academics.
