Mother and Six Children Die in Fire and Explosion
In Lowville New York a 37 year old mother Mrs Glen Jackson and six of her children died when an explosion and fire leveled their seven room farm home five miles north of the Adirondack village. Jackson and her husband Dale were asleep when the kerosene stove spill and a near empty oil supply caused ignition. Six other Jackson children escaped, two leaping from a second story window as flames trapped siblings in their beds. Sheriff Jerome B Paris said Mrs Jackson died at a hospital. Dale Jackson remained in critical condition with a poor chance of recovery.
