Former Pocatellan Heads Firm in Salt Lake City Office
Walter L. Roche, longtime Intermountain securities expert and son of Mrs. L. T. Tucker of Pocatello, is installed as manager of Merrill Lynch, Pierce, Fenner and Beane’s new Salt Lake City office. He will direct operations across Utah, southern Idaho, eastern Nevada and western Wyoming, linking the region to 95 Merrill Lynch offices in 94 cities. Roche began in Pocatello in 1924 and served as Intermountain representative for National City Company before moving to Salt Lake City. A World War I and II veteran, he received the Legion of Merit in 1946 for boosting war bond sales in the Ninth Service Command.
