Post Vet Column: VA Examinations And Benefits Rules
The column explains that missing VA ordered physical exams can suspend disability compensation payments unless a valid reason exists. Retroactive payments may be blocked if the disability did not clearly exist during the missed period. It also covers that other income does not affect compensation amounts and stepchildren may receive benefits if in the veteran's household. Remaining entitlement can be used for job training or education with VA approval.
