Truman Bill On Prices Foredoomed
Washington report notes President Truman handed Congress a foredoomed bill to rollback prices to last November and tighten wartime controls on wages distribution and credit to curb inflation. Republicans call it police state policy while Senate and House committees flag budget and credit limits as core aims. Paul Porter argues the measure aims to halt price spiral though passage seems unlikely.
