Truman says price drops not threat despite anti inflation plan
President Truman dismissed recent commodity price declines as not alarming and denied emergency unemployment plans. He urged continued wage price controls and consumer credit limits, while Congress delays anti inflation bills. Brannan argued price supports lower consumer costs and urged scrutiny of steel. The chamber urged employers to resist fourth round wage hikes to maintain the downward trend in living costs.
