Portable 3000-ton steel mill sails to Chile
The Algoma Steel Co mill from Sault Ste. Marie is dismantled and repacked for shipment to Talcahuano Chile. The 3000 ton facility will be rebuilt at a railhead then loaded onto a Grace Line freighter in Montreal. Full operation is planned for 1950.
