Navy tests launch world's largest pea shooter in California
In California's Sierra Madre mountains the U S Navy built a 300 foot compressed air tube to launch torpedoes into Morris Dam lake for ordnance testing. Navy experts fired more torpedoes in the lake than used against Japan in World War II. Navy photographs show torpedoes entering water and miniature models in a test tank.
