Children Village inspired program in New York City schools
New York City Board of Education runs a 16 school experiment using a view type record card to track social emotional physical and intellectual growth of pupils aged 10 to 18. The program echoes the Dobbs Ferry Children’s Village model founded in 1851 with cottages, parent couples, eight trades plus agriculture and citizenship diplomas. The article features Peter Sekner photos and a RKO film portraying Village activities.
