House rides river in 42 room cottage disaster
Peter Parsons worked the night shift in Cleveland as his wife visited friends. Their 42 room river cottage near Willoughby O took off on a bizarre voyage when the rain swollen Chagrin River lifted it from its foundation. The house floated a mile down the river and half a mile along Lake Eries shore before beaching as debris. Complete furnishings and clothing were lost, but a luggage box containing 32 twenty five dollar bonds and an insurance policy was found.
