County Board of Equalization Sits and Local Notices
The Board of County Commissioners met at 10 o'clock Monday with all members present to hear cases on stock valuations. Merchants Nesbitt Dooley Welland Thompson and Ong Chong Lung appeared to show cause for reduced assessments. Wertheimer & Co. of Dekamar failed to secure a reduction from $10,000 to $7,400. The session also arranged election duties, appointing inspectors and clerks for numerous precincts, and noted the death of former County Recorder Harry Henderson.
