Railroad Plans for Piobe Railroad Day Debated

E. F. Ptrudenthal president of the Chamber of Commerce convened a meeting to arrange a Piobe Railroad Day. A tentative date of November 11 was favored if Salt Lake Route officials approve and excursions from Salt Lake City and Los Angeles can be arranged. An executive committee was named with power to form subcommittees and appoint chairs.

Day at Pioche to Be a Hammer Day

An executive committee meeting in Pioche appointed multiple committees to organize Railroad Day. The Reception Finance Program Arrangements Accommodation and Ladies Reception panels were named with leaders including M L Lee H E Freudenthal and Mrs Abbie Sawyer. The group urged rapid committee meetings and broad volunteer support to ensure a memorable Pioche RailRoad Day dating back to 1873.

Local Pro Team Beats Scrub Nine Five to Three on Sunday

At the baseball grounds last Sunday the local pro nine defeated the scrub squad five to three in a seven inning game. The manager Vic Troise of El Dorado Canyon impressed Pioche spectators with his unconventional coaching and field leadership. Las Vegas youths blame Caliente for canceling engagements, promising a rematch next season in Pioche.

New Law Firm Formed by Leon French and Jessie Simmons

Leon French of Searchlight Nevada and Jessie Simmons of Los Angeles California form a new law partnership with offices at Pioche and Searchlight. The Pioche office is not yet secured as office rooms are scarce, but they plan to locate in the central business area soon. They will handle mining and corporation law with prompt service benefiting clients in Searchlight and Pioche.

State Auditor Inspecting County Finances

State Auditor Nate Roff and his son have spent four days at the county seat examining the books of county officers. He plans no uniform statewide system but will check financial transactions and offer beneficial suggestions. He left Wednesday and will return in December.

Searchlight City to Incorporate Government Preliminaries Set

Searchlight moves toward incorporation as a third class city. A committee will organize the first election around November 10. The city will have three wards with a mayor city clerk and treasurer city judge city marshal and three councilmen. Salaries vary by role and gaming licenses are expected to fund expenses.

A man calling himself a lunch man set up a small stand in front of Clark's Place on credit. During court, profits rose. a Jew took the money and fled after several successful nights. Child Badly Scalded in Morning Accident

A young child, Guillan Llyod, was seriously scalded yesterday when he backed into a bucket of boiling water on the floor. Dr. Duckworth treated the wounds. Justice Court Uses Ten Day Sentence In Larceny Case

In justice court Judge Garrison presided over Pedro Chaos on a petit larceny charge. After evidence the court sentenced the defendant to ten days in the county jail. The Mexican defendant allegedly took a ten dollar piece from a gambling game at the Court Exchange saloon and fled briefly.

Six Men Go To State Prison
