Gunfire in Chronicle office sparks pistol struggle
May 7 San Puaxersco reports James Blliot business manager of the Chronicle narrowly escaped death when James Rudolph fired a pistol during a demonstration in the Chronicle office. Eliot blocked the shot, a struggle ensued, and a ball struck a silver dollar in Eliot’s pocket, averting fatal injury. Rudolph was arrested and charged with assault.
