Ernest Dupont, charged with the murder of Elmer Davis last June near Oneota, has pleaded not guilty and will go to trial next Monday at 10. His defense, led by attorney Chas Lee Horsey, seeks acquittal on grounds of insanity citing a past brain injury.Dupont, released on $5,000 bond after a preliminary hearing, is jailed pending trial. Davis and Dupont were workmates at the G. G. Davis ranch and reportedly quarreled after a saloon visit before the shooting.
