Las Vegas prepares for two new banks named the Second State Bank and the First National Bank backed by local investors and California financiers. A national bank permit has been filed in Washington with telegraphic reports that Chase National Bank may become the New York correspondent for the proposed First National Bank of Las Vegas. The region anticipates rapid growth and asserts additional banking facilities are vital to future expansion.
The Nevada Farmer and Stockman, official Nevada State Farm Bureau publication, begins a new run from Elko on October 20 under Free Press Publishing with Farm Bureau and Extension staff handling editorial work. M Steinger is business manager, F W Egleston advertising manager, and S Ridder editor in chief.
