Art Acord Visits Caliente Theatre
Art Acord stopped at Caliente on his way to Los Angeles and appeared at the Rex Theatres where his address was welcomed by a large audience. He donated his favorite mural to a Catholic Church voting contest, performed rope stunts, and promised a prize for a rope trick by any child who could copy the stunt before leaving for Los Angeles.

Paul Succetti of Eureka Rancher and Miner Dies at 76
Paul Succetti a longtime Eureka and Flat Nose rancher and mining man died peacefully Monday November 7 after two months illness. Born in Lombardy Italy in 1859 he came to Eureka in 1879 and later operated the Johnny mine in Stateline district. He married Celia Craw on Christmas Eve 1887 and left seven children Marie Carman Eva Dolan Rose Lynch Robert Theresa Annie. one daughter Laura Succetti preceded him in death. Funeral services were held Wednesday at Union Church with Father Slattery of Caliente officiating and burial in the family plot Catholic cemetery. Paul bearers were J A Clark W D Price Guido Cottino Frank McMahan H W Turner and Frank Berger. The local community respected him as a tireless rancher and stockman.

The Ploche Commercial club held its regular meeting with Vice President M L Lee presiding. Discussion covered the ore freight reduction conference in Carson City on November 18 and reciprocal ties with nearby clubs. A government mail service note was given, an auto trip to Ely and Ely Chamber of Commerce was proposed, and an airplane field site was located with cost estimates to follow. New members W B Harrison and Jack Mathews were elected. J B Corless visited, and several civic inspections occurred with plans for a Rose Valley Base Valley road repair.
