Virginia Louise mining company plans immediate output increase. Fifty tons of fluxing ore to be sent to American Smelting at Salt Lake City, with a 75 ton per day contract with U S Smelting, boosting revenue despite freight cuts. Mr and Mrs Joe Delmue and family attended the election night dance in Pioche. Reginald P Jones of Irish Mountain Mines in Hiko was in Pioche on business last Monday. Livestock Meeting Set For November 13 In Two Counties

A joint meeting of Clark and Limesin county stockmen to form a county and combined statewide livestock organization is planned for Friday November 13 starting at 10 a m at Piochs. Local organizers J I Olinghouse and A L Scott lead preparations with state officials including Vernon Metcalfe and Dr Edward Records expected to attend and address the gathering. A dance at Thompson opera house that evening invites all participants and supporters.

Tuesday Night Dance Draws Large Pioche Crowd

A grand Tuesday evening dance at the Thompson Opera House drew one of the largest crowds in a year with attendees from Panuca Callente and elsewhere. The hall featured Halloween decor and electric lighting, the event rescheduled due to a snowstorm. Local residents Earl Huff and Al Peterson visited their Valley View ranch, with Mrs Huff planning to reside there next spring. Frank R McNamee, Salt Lake Route attorney, traveled from Los Angeles and back by Thursday. District Attorney Scott spent election day in Pioche.

August Gronert mining engineer from Butte Montana spent three weeks inspecting Tungsten Comet mining company property near Pioche. He found the district promising and noted Pioche ledges are shallow versus Butte depths. he may return for further work and more underground inspection.

Tom Gillespie Receives Marine Medal for Faithful Service

Corporal Thomas M. Gillespie US Marine Corps is awarded a good conduct medal for two years of active service from June 27, 1917, to May 16, 1919, with an official citation signed by Lt. Colonel H. Lay. He currently works at the Tonopah California mine in Tonopah.

Pioche men return from big job at Frisco Utah

William Webb and C B Amsden returned to Pioche from Frisco Utah after completing development at the Imperial mine of the Amalgamated Pioche Mines and Smelters. They crossed a two foot ore vein 46 feet beyond the tunnel portal and the drift showed encouraging results. Webb planned to drive to Pioche but abandoned his car near Modena due to poor roads.

Mike Kinsella and Owen Walker secured lanes at Silver Mines Company with ore assays showing 19.5 ounces per ton silver and 18 percent copper.
