Bristol Mines May Soon Be Started Article

A. W. Middleton of New York, who bought the Day Bristol property at a January receiver sale for about 98,000, arrived in the city with plans to resume mining by June. He will complete a final payment of roughly 344,900 to discharge the receiver, after which the mines will be formally transferred to Middleton. Also noted is the death of Joseph Elsenmann in San Francisco, a longtime Pioche resident, with surviving widow and children.

Caliente News Notes Local Movements and Ventures

Caliente residents and visitors are active with travel and business. Leale James left for Mt. Treas nt Utah while Mrs. E Foster and her daughter and son-in-law Seyimors headed to Canada and the East. Reno McDonald returned from the mountains and J Taylor brought ore samples from the Raster mine. Harry Underhill bought a new two passenger Ford from Org Lynch of Ploche. Mrs. CT Land and son returned from California. J Corkish and Alice Corkish came from Delamar. John A Denton visits from Caliente after 41 years apart from his nephew. Mr. and Mrs. W Elliott plan to convert the Denton hotel into a first class Kontelry. F M Lightner moved his saloon across the street. Joseph Rice and son Remo stay with Hyrum Rica. Phoebe Pace improves, Thelma Norrl y left for Pamack. W Newell moves his family to Milford Utah. Agnes and Nettie Smith visit from Salt Lake to see their father. Mrs. Lloyd Denton improving. Miss Martha Pace from St George visiting. Burt and Beddow run the moving picture show. Be McCarthy moves his family to Salt Lake.

Local Ranchers Return From Mountains After Cattle Roe

Panaca residents Kil Edwards John Nelson Geo Lee William Atcheson Joseph Kennow Jr and Wadaworth and Henry Lee returned Wednesday after an absence of three or four days. They have been roaming up cattle for sale in June. Geo Syphus and son Harry joined the group before departure.

Alamo district votes for bonds with first woman trustee

A May 22 election in the Alamo school district approved bonds with all votes for bonds. Mrs. Lawrence Richard became the first woman to vote in Lincoln County and to serve as a trustee. The Alamo trustees were hosted at dinner by Mrs. Richard, and Mrs. Lois Stewart was named the district’s first lady trustee.

The board of trustees of Proche school district announces the employment of the principal and teachers for seventh and eighth grades Miss Elizabeth W. Ashes From Mount Lassen Cover Northern Nevada

Saturday night ash fall from Mount Lassen spread over Winnemucca and Reno, with Winnemucca reporting a quarter inch and Reno said to be covered several inches deep.
