Nevada-Utah mill shows improved output after tune up

After a four day stoppage the Consolidated Nevada Utah mill resumes steady work and reports higher quality zinc concentrate than before. Daily ore intake runs 20 to 60 tons from mine and stockpile, with one mine shift operating efficiently. Lincoln County Normal School graduation exercises set for May 20 at Panaca include speeches, songs, and diploma presentations. C. W. Garrison, Lincoln County recorder and auditor, weighs a possible Democratic bid for state senator.

M M Johnson, mine manager of the Uvada Copper company at Bristol, spent a couple of days in camp this week. He hurries to the mine and says it is looking fine and making money. He notes mining is hindered by a shortage of miners.

Rabies Outbreak Hits Sheep Herd East of Stillwater

Joe Enos reports about 4 000 head of sheep in the hills east of Stillwater suffering rabies with around 100 deaths in recent days. A coyote jump and dog attacks preceded the outbreak, and seven animals were killed in one day as hydrophobia signs appeared amid a harsh weather shift.

Will Drill for Water in White River Valley

At an adjourned county board meeting the plan to continue drilling for water with the county plant at the site near Preston in White River Valley was approved. Work will start once a competent supervisor is secured after last year's poor results blamed on operator inexperience.

Will Install Flotation Process at Cherry Creek

Downer brothers of Goldfield have taken over the dump at the Star mine north of Cherry Creek and plan to install the flotation process to treat tailings. The experiment will be watched by mine operators in the district and may be adopted by the Star Company if successful. Manager Fletcher moves a gasoline engine and compressor from the upper workings and operations will resume at once.

Death of Pioneer Delamar Trader in Nevada Runaway

Mrs. T. J. Lynch received word in Oakland that her father T. B. Edwards, about 58, died after injuries from a runaway accident near St Helena. A Tonopah pioneer merchant with Nevada mining ventures, he formerly lived in Lincoln county and had run Delamar mercantile business.

Joseph A Bish op pleaded guilty as an accomplice in a poison plot against M B Connell. Judge McFadden sentenced him to five years. Mrs Connell allegedly invited her husband to visit in jail and confessed the plan.

Death by own action pact ends life of Tuscarora couple

George Ham and his wife, both drug users in Tuscarora, shot and killed in a death by own action pact after opiate access was restricted by new law. Ham killed his wife then attempted suicide, bullets piercing the roof, and he was captured to face trial.
