Former Field Man For Jesse Knight Eyes Pioche Mines

William Wantland, a Salt Lake mining operator, closed negotiations with Ed Weston for a group of five full claims in Pioche Highland district. The Weston group lies between the Golden Prince and Abe Lincoln veins, promising strong development and possible tapping of the Prince Consolidated and Golden Prince strikes. John A. Kirby and Joseph Free praised the property, Wantland plans to organize a company and start aggressive development soon. The Point mine once owned by Pioche Nevada Consolidated has spurred a new firm, Pioche Metals & Mining Company, based in Salt Lake with 1,000,000 share capital. William H. Webber serves as president with Hodson Cook as vice president and Charles A. Cook as secretary treasurer. directors include Kirby Davis and Thompson. Ground at the property shows abundant mineralization and extensive surface showings across a 7000 by 1800 foot area adjoining several named groups.
