Eastern Nevada Reclamation Association Formed in Eastern Nevada

In response to Mayor Witcher’s request a meeting at city hall led to the creation of the Eastern Nevada Reclamation Association. A. B. Witcher was named president, with W. A. Leonard, Thomas A. Bath, and G. B. Hoag in key roles. The group aims to extend reclamation efforts beyond White Pine county to valleys across eastern Nevada and push for appropriations to develop groundwaters for irrigation.

Nevada's draft tallies from June 6 1917 and June 6 1918 show inductions by race and registration counts. Preliminary steps were taken at a Wednesday meeting in the office of A L Scott toward organizing a Pioche rifle club. The group aims for fifteen to twenty five members and seeks government funding for arms and gear for indoor and outdoor meets. Eliza Culverwell Pioneer Resident Dies in Los Angeles

Eliza Culverwell longtime Lincoln county resident died Friday in Los Angeles from Brights disease. Born in Ogden Utah fifty nine years ago she lived in Panaca Caliente and Culverwell ranch. Known as the best doctor in Lincoln county she aided many camps. Survivors include sons Charles Culverwell and William Culverwell two daughters Amy Culverwell and Mrs George B Cox, four brothers and seven grandchildren. Funeral held in Caliente with Rev Percival Smith officiating.
