Telegraphic advices report that Commines Metals will begin ore shipments immediately as work resumes. The revived mining and larger workforce at the mine promise increased shipping tonnage, with base ore showing substantial quantities including silver, lead, and zinc components.
The senate met Friday, receiving a favorable committee report on Sheehan bill No. 24 proposing a $500 tax refund for overpayments. A rough path lies ahead with primaries and amendments as factions argue whether the measure, and related changes to jury verdicts and civil practice, will pass. E Brodie leases dumps from the Amalgamated. W Eb Brodis, who recently secer ed inane on the slag demon of the two old Piidie smelters, shipped the tunal car to the Americas Silting Refining Company Salt Lake this week. Further shipments will be made on completion of the spur track from the Salt Lake Route main line to the big lower dump. Road Master Sands guarantees completion by Monday.
In a Nevada case, John Forman was discharged by Judge Walker after testimony showing the liquor was for his own use. District Attorney Wadsworth pursued the state, while Luke J. McNames defended Forman. The judge warned against future Moonshine possession, pending higher authority on limits.
Pioche stocks on mining exchanges saw large blocks of Pioche Bristol trade at 3 to 8 cents while overall Pioche issues gained through the week. Prince Consolidated remained strong with heavy Los Angeles sales and 19,000 shares traded yesterday.
