Nevada Legislature Drags Through Slow Session

Special to The Record from Carson City Nevada February 17 The ongoing legislative session has been criticized as ineffective with few major laws. Notable actions include a proposal to extend the mine inspector four year term and measures on alien labor and information warrants. The Mineral County split from Esmeralda County passed, local option bills died, and Senate Bill 44 would require posting warnings about habitual drunkards.

Train Service To Resume Next Monday

Train service is set to resume next Monday after three weeks out of commission. J H Manderfield, assistant general freight and passenger agent, announced traffic will restart with repairs completed on the Condor canyon branch. Nevada Utah will boost Day mine activity and other companies will follow. The Ploce Coalition Mines company, owner of the Golden Prince and Gold & Silver Prince, reportedly plans a rapid development drive next month as funds reportedly reach $100000.

Mexican Pleads Guilty to Murder Charge in Caliente

Francisco Gallindi, a Mexican man, pleaded guilty to the murder of Frank Rues in December. Rues, formerly a laborer for a Los Angeles firm, owned a large dump in Meadow Valley. Gallindi, previously convicted of burglary, was bound over to the district court. Deputy sheriffs transported him to the county jail. White Pine Wool Growers Elect Officers

Mendha Ore Body Covers a Wide Area

John R. Cook, manager of the Mendhamite reports a 4 foot vein of ore running 26 percent lead, $10 gold value and from 18 to 140 ounces in silver, located 170 feet south of the shaft on the 700 foot level. Work teams have been in the vicinity for some time. The ore body is not new and represents a wider ledge already exploited elsewhere in the mine.

Salt Lake Route Advances On New High Line

The Salt Lake Route reports eleven miles of its new high line in operation with thirty-five miles more due next Sunday. Tests indicate the line will be in use next month to reduce flood damage. Six miles on the west end and five on the east end are active, bringing the main track into service earlier than planned. Mrs Warren and her mother will travel to California next Monday.
