M L Lee secretary of the new Southeastern Nevada Livestock Association reports active outreach across Lincoln and Clark counties. The group, with officers C W Love president, H W Lytle secretary, and others, aims to unite stockmen, set dues at $2 and per-head assessments, and promote cooperative buying and selling to improve ranching across the territory.

Pioche Stocks Rally on Mining Exchanges Amid News

Mining shares on Salt Lake Los Angeles and New York markets showed renewed activity. Prince Consolidated rose about four points to 33 cents as investors praised financing of a deep shaft sinking through new stock subscriptions. Pioche Bristol jumped to over five cents after selling 35 000 shares. Virginia Louise on Los Angeles exchange gained on management claims of solid financing. Track Metals also firm while other Pioche issues lagged. local buyers remained optimistic about profits.

New Camp of Silver Horn near Bristol draws New York City investors led by Weir Brothers and Company as Nevada Silver Horn mine reports high grade ore. Sectional sampling shows 32.7 ounces of silver per ton with 60 cents gold over a ten foot square area. a development trench and cross-cut tunnel yield strong silver values. over 3000 tons projected at 35.2 ounces silver and 60 cents gold. Camp construction proceeds despite heavy snowfall with bunkhouses, offices, water supply, and timbered surroundings. Adjacent properties also attract attention, including Silverdale, Silver Peer, and Silver May groups backed by San Francisco capitalists.

Sheepmen of State Agree on Wage Scale This Year

Sheepmen of western Nevada met at the Chamber of Commerce in Reno to discuss price conditions and wage scales. Secretary Metcalf of the Nevada Livestock Association opened the session and warned prices for wool, mutton, and lambs may fall near pre war levels. Attendees signed a resolution setting maximum wages for shepherds at 70 dollars during lambing, with older hands and new bands to receive up to 40 dollars, and shearers to be paid at a set maximum as wholesale prices fluctuate.

Nevada Legislature Endorses Scott Amendment on Divorce Law

Both Nevada Senate and Assembly passed Senator A L Scott of Lincoln County proposed changes to the state divorce law. The bill adds that a party must have resided in Nevada at least 17 months before filing. The measure allows action to proceed where defendants are domiciled in the county of filing. Senator Best delivered the urging speech. Senator Stott introduced Bill No 37 to extend benefits of the southern agricultural district to Lincoln County, sent to the agriculture committee.

Sneak Thief Purloins Goods at Alexander Hotel

A sneak thief entered rooms occupied by Hubert Cleine and William Atchison at the Alexander Hotel Wednesday evening, stealing a new suit, two shirts, a suitcase with silk shirts and clothes, ties, and shoes. Officials led by Deputy Sheriff John Roeder conduct a thorough investigation and search for the thief or thieves.

Directors of Pioche Bank Hold Meeting Last Saturday

The annual stockholders meeting of the Bank of Pioche Inn was held this month with 189 of 350 shares represented. Cashier’s report showed the bank prosperous.
